RE: What would you do?
In your post you said they were walking through your site to get to the lake. How much out of the way would they have to go to go around your campsite? We frequent a campground at a lake and it would be almost a half mile extra if we had to go around peoples' campsites to get to the lake/moored boat. Most just walk along the edge of campsites and say excuse me.
I am not sticking up for these people because they showed their true colors by kicking the dog and messing with your stuff. Just wanted to point out there are some things we need to consider.

No matter the distance it doesnt matter. Thats why folk reserve specific sites. If permission is given to pass through your site ( which we have done on some occasssions) then thats fine but to just walk through it nonsense. We will often not go to a CG if we CANT get a waterfront site.

I would have done the same thing as you....I hope...If it was a child or teen that kicked our dog ( 7lb. Shih Tsu) I would have told the Parents of the idiot and The Rangers. If it was an adult who kicked our dog..I probably would have done something that I would eventually regreat...I have a long fuse but once it get lit..Im not very nice.
Obviously THEY were rude and caused others to complain against them. Does the COE keep records of such people and not allow them to camp at any of their parks again?

RE: Tent camped for the first time in years...
I used to tent camp and really missed it. Moved to South Fla. and tent camped once in late May w/DW who was prego..way too hot...Bought a used Pop Up which I loved..still had the tent feel with the a/c to sleep well at night. 2 Kids later the Pop Up was too small and loading it up prior to and after trips was a pain. Now we have a TT that has many of the comforts of home (not quite all). As for tent camping..we bring along a tent and if and when its cool enough down here I love it. Back to the basics. Now a days with the huge 2 room tents,air matresses and portables a/c units tent camping can really be comfortable and alot less expensive. Like previous poster said...towing a boat instead of a TT would be nice too..

Holy Cow ! I read this post last night and there was some argumentative comments made regarding the topic but I didnt read any obscenities. I would hope that the moderators would allow the exchange of thoughts and idea's even if topics become a little heated at times. Are we not a free society? While I would never condone using profanity outright... if somebody is going to write "BS" instead of writing out the words is that a violation? I would hope not. Discretion Please !
We all agree to the TOS when we sign up, we agree not to use foul language. I read the offending posts before they were cleaned up as well and though they needed some modding.
I would like to publicly THANK LA for his restraint in not deleting this thread and instead going to all of the work of cleaning it up. You do a great job!
Obviously without using the exact quotes..Can you explain what offended you. I read the post yesterday and found no cursing or obscene language per say. My point was that at times threads seem to be altered or removed because some forum members have strong disagreements.I personally do not think disagreements are cause for being censored.

Speaking of Towing!!
After reading a post regarding towing a TT with a 1/2 ton truck I thought I'd share this. While recently down in the Keys camping a Camper pulled into the park. A 27 foot TT which was being towed by a mini van. I was shocked that somebody would even attempt this..what made matters even crazier was that when the vehicle stopped four very, very large adults exited the mini van...The other kicker was that they drove all the way from Ohio. How the heck did they make it....wonder if they made it home.
We have been towing for a bout 8-10 years and I have never seen anything quite this bad.

Im not going to read 7 pages of KOA stories but I will post that we camped at the Fiesta Key KOA and will NEVER return unless we are stuck ! The folks running that place were the rudest grumpiest people I ever met in any CG.

RE: trailer towing with Hemi
Our set is almost the same..2003 Quad Cab 5.7 Hemi 3.93 rear. Tows our Jayco 27 BH loaded plus alot of toys just fine. I too was concerned about the weight of the TT when we made our decision to purchase the 27BH & now wish we bought the larger 29BHS..Your truck should tow that TT or even somewhat larger TT just fine....with the 3.93 rear. I did add a set of Super Springs to our truck to help with the extra load of junk we bring along.

Suggestions Northern Georgia SP SUmmer 2009
We want to plan a trip to the northern Georgia mountains to escape the Florida heat for the summer of 2009. We enjoy kayking,swimming,fishing biking.We have two young children who will be ages 9 and 7. Can somebody suggest which SP would be best..

Learned from some hard core fishing guys in Florida that if you put on a genrous supply of bath/baby powder that'll help. Suppossed to clog your pours a bit so the skeeters move onto the next victim. My DW hates sprays/deet and swears by the powder. We also bring along a coupleof fans and create our own breeze to keep the bugs away.

Need HELP W/Repiar to Diamond Plate
I need some advise on how to repair a small hole in the front of our TT. The 1 inch by 1/2 inch hole is located on the diamond plate area in the front bottom part of the TT next to the battery. The damage is only to the diamond plate and does not puncture through to the inside of the TT.
I was thinking of filling the hole with some caulking and then painting it silver...good/bad idea.
Thanks for any info or help.

Not camping anywhere. We refuse to camp on amateur weekends called "holidays".
Every time I read a post with this remark it just makes me laugh! i have been out for alot of holidays along with regular 1 and 2 week trips and have yet to see a difference!

Ft. Desoto County Park which is about 40 minuets south of Tampa has a pet section within the CG as well as a dog park and a dog beach. If I were a dog thats where I'd want to go.
